There are many activities that a Pagan family can do together.
-
A nature walk is probably the easiest activity, and it is free.
-
The family can pick up litter for civic groups or simply as a family.
-
Picnicing outside for any meal is a wonderful way to get in touch with nature.
-
You can go to a beautiful park, or just picnic in your back yard.
-
You can cloud watch together while you're picnicing.
-
Dance with your children. Make sure to dance wild, free, and uninhibited
by what you think people might say. Make sure to use your entire body. Children
are amazingly free with dance and song.
-
Go camping as a family. Don't go when it's too cold or too wet, and try not
to go for too long. Don't forget your air mattress!
-
Talk to your children about what they would do for the Earth if they had
three wishes. Value everyone's answers.
-
If you see an unfair or inaccurate portrayal of witches or pagans in the
media, discuss this with your child as soon as possible.
-
Allow your child to express himself/herself in their clothing as much as
possible. This doesn't mean letting them go out half naked in Winter.
-
Allow your young child time to play naked after or before bath. This is an
important part of their sexual development.
-
Leave colorful pieces of yarn out in the yard for birds to use in their nests.
It's wonderful to look up and see all the colorful nests they make.
-
Make and put out a bird feeder and a bird bath.
-
Talk to your children about the day they were born. Tell them how glad you
were to have them join your family. Tell them why you chose their name. Show
them their baby pictures.
-
Make a photo album of each child with them.
-
Allow your child to think of other names for themselves.
-
Help your children write stories and learn about their favorite animal.
-
Make simmering potpourri with your family. It makes the whole house smell
wonderful.
-
Take a family trip to the ocean or the mountains
